April 4, 2003 - On the April 1st show of Jeopardy host Alex Trebek asked the following question for $600 in the category of "At the Arcade': “Stern, of Melrose Park, Illinois, is the now the world's only maker of these machines that used to rule arcades.” One of the three contestants answered correctly: “What are pinball machines'”
Created by Merv Griffin in 1964 in the dining room of his apartment, Jeopardy has been in syndication since 1984. It has won 21 Emmy awards, including eight for Outstanding Game Show. Jeopardy has been ranked first in the Nielsen ratings in its category now for a record 950 consecutive weeks.
