Stern's mechanical engineers used ALGOR 3-D Modeling Software
October 23, 2006 - Stern Pinball, Inc. continues to strive to give its customers the most well-designed and reliable pinball machines possible. In this effort, Stern's mechanical engineers use ALGOR, Inc.'s 3-D modeling software to both model and test its mechanical assemblies in the playfield layout. This process has been so successful that IEN, DesignFax Online, Motion Control Technology, and Euerka design and mechanical engineering magazines have all recently highlighted it.
ALGOR's 3-D modeling software allows Stern's mechanical engineers to create models of its playfield mechanisms on the computer screen. Then through simulating a pinball striking the mechanism, the engineer tests the mechanism, thus helping him to design the most resilient part possible. The engineer can then validate or disprove this computer simulation through a real life example as recorded by Stern's high-speed video camera.
Stern Pinball mechanical engineer John Rotharmel is interviewed in each of the magazine articles on his use of ALGOR's 3-D software. John says, "We're the only game in town, but we never want to be complacent about our product."
