Stern Pinball Featured on 190 North

June 1, 2005 - This past week Gary Stern and Stern Pinball, Inc. were featured on an extremely popular Chicago-based television show called 190 North. On the Chicago ABC station, Channel 7, Janet Davies interviewed Gary, took a tour of Stern's 40,000 sq. ft. factory in Melrose Park, IL, and played Stern's newest game, THE SOPRANOS®.

On 190 North, Janet got to see up close how pinball machines are made. "There is a half mile of wire that goes into a game," said Gary, "and about 32 man hours go into producing one, which is about the same as a Ford Taurus."

To learn more about how pinball machine are made, visit www.sternpinball.com and go to the Tour page. There, one will soon be able to see the 190 North segment. One can also take a tour of the plant as filmed by Gary's own daughter, Erin Stern, and narrated by Gary himself. One can then go to the Stern Info page and learn about the company's history, Stern's philosophy on pinball, and little know facts about what goes into a pinball machine. Also featured on the Stern website is THE SOPRANOS® pinball, as well as other recent games, including THE SIMPSONS®, ELVIS®, and HARLEY-DAVIDSON®/3rd EDITION.

Janet Davies, host of 190 North, joined ABC 7 as a feature reporter and program host in August of 1984.
