STERN PINBALL, INC. HONORED AS SMALL MANUFACTURER OF THE YEAR

October 3, 2005 - Start Magazine, the publication for the manufacturing executive, has honored Stern Pinball, Inc. as its 2005 Small Business Manufacturer of the Year.

Pfizer, Inc. was honored in the $1 billion or more category, as well as Organic Valley Family of Farms in the $200 million to $1 billion category.   Some of the other manufacturers nominated included: Patagonia, Texas Instruments, Abbott Labs, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pepsi Co., and General Mills.

The Manufacturer of the Year Awards were created to highlight American manufacturing companies that show excellence in the following areas:

  • Recognizing the significance of manufacturers to the health of the economy to the entire manufacturing industry.

  • Showing how manufacturers are embracing today's obstacles and overcoming hurdles to remain competitive.

  • Demonstrating a track record in job creation, improved corporate revenues, and capital investments.

  • Illustrating a commitment to their workers and community.

In the eyes of Start Magazine, Stern Pinball has shown excellence in each of these areas.

Receiving the award for Stern Pinball at the dinner and awards presentation was Gary Stern, accompanied by Vice President Mike O'Donnell.

Gary Stern said, "We are very proud to be honored by Start Magazine.   This award demonstrates that pinball remains a viable and exciting product in today's world in the eyes of the manufacturing community … and we thank you for that."
